Five things to see/do in Seattle:
The Pike Street Market, where you can buy produce and other goods directly from farmers, is a Seattle institution, and possible the city’s best known landmark.
The Seattle Space Needle, constructed in 1962, provides great views of the city from its 600 foot (200 m) high observation deck. The historic Smith Tower, in downtown Seattle, also offers great views of the city.
Stop by the Museum of Flight, which features many interesting exhibits related to the history of flight, a replica of the president’s jet, as well as a flight simulator where visitors can pilot an imaginary flight.
Check out the historic Ballard Locks (officially called the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks), a series of locks between George Washington Lake and the Pacific Ocean, designed to let boats pass without letting sea water get into the freshwater lakes.
Check out historic Pioneer Square, one of the city’s oldest (and most vibrant) areas, with lots of restaurants, cafes, and street-performers.
