Five things to see/do in Queretaro: Check out the the Teatro de la Republica (Theater of the Republic) in the center of the city, which is housed in a beautiful, historically significant building.
Check out the huge arches of Queretaro’s famous aqueduct – engineered in the first half of the 18th century to provide the city with fresh drinking water.
Take a walk around the Plaza de Armas, one of the city’s central squares, and check out some of the beautiful colonial buildings, as well as the dog statue fountain in the center of the square. Here you’ll also find the Casa de la Corregidor (Governor’s Palace), seat of the municipal and region governments.
Pass by the Jardin Zenea (Zenea Garden), another pretty central square with trimmed mushroom-shaped trees and a fountain, and check out the facade of the temple of San Francisco.
Not far outside the city in the Sierra Gorda mountains, is a group of five missions (known as the Franciscan Missions) built by the same monk who was responsible for building missions in California.
