Five things to see/do in Guanajuato:
 The central part of Guanajuato is a joy to wander around in, with scores of well preserved colorful buildings, nice squares, and plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars.
 Ride the tram up to the Pipila Monument (Monumento al Pipila) to enjoy an amazing panorama of the city below. Alternately, the more adventurous can walk up the hillside to get to the monument.
 Check out the city’s three main theaters, all three of which have beautiful facades and fairly-regular shows: The elegant Moorish/Roman/Greek-mix Teatro Juarez, the Teatro Principal, and the Teatro Cervantes.
 The Diego Rivera House/Museum (Museo Casa Diego Rivera) pays homage to the life and times of the famous Mexican painter who was born here.
 Guanajuato’s most (in)famous attraction is the Mummy Museum (Museo de los Momias), – not for the faint of heart – which has preserved remains of some of the town’s “former residents”.
