Five things to see/do in Quebec City: Take a stroll through Quebec City’s Old Town, one of the most beautiful in North America. It’s divided into two parts – the walled Upper Town (Haute Ville) and Lower Town (Basse Ville). Both offer ample opportunities to marvel at the breathtaking 17th and 18th century architecture.
In the Upper Town, check out the Citadel, a former British fort, and Quebec City’s most famous landmark. The Citadel offers great views of the city and surroundings and guided tours are available.
Take in some culture at one of Quebec City’s museums. Two notable ones are the Musee National des Beaux Arts (National Fine Arts Museum), which has a good collection of works by both local and international artists, and the Museum of Civilization (Musee de la Civilisation).
At 275 feet (90 meters), the Montmorency Falls, located on the Montmorency River about 7km (5 miles) from the city, are higher than Niagara Falls.
One of Quebec City’s most famous events is the Winter Carnival – Carnaval de Québec, the biggest winter carnival in the world. There are tons of events, competitions, and activities for the whole family.
